Plans for former Lucan-Newlands Road and Embankment
Issued : Monday 18 April, 2011
The Council intends to commence consultation in the near future on plans to spend 90,000 euro on improving the embankment located between Moyglass and Castle Riada. I had raised this as a priority area of concern at several Council meetings and when making the decision on how best to spend money available through the Public Realm fund. This area has been the source of much concern for residents living adjacent to the embankment and indeed through-out both housing estates. One question remains regarding this consultation and that is whether to open the process up to the wider area of south Lucan or simply to focus on the two main estates involved. If you have any views on the matter, or would like to be consulted on the plans for this former Lucan-Newlands section of road, please do contact me - Cllr. Caitriona Jones
