Killiney Beach
Issued : Tuesday 29 September, 2009
The Labour Party Councillor for the Ballybrack Ward, has advised that action needs to be taken by Dalkey Garda Station to ensure the parties that have taken place over the last couple of months and most recently on Saturday night are stopped at White Rock, which is a known beauty spot.
Councillor Carrie Smyth stated "Residents of Killiney are been disturbed with the noise and alleged criminal damage caused as the party goers are on their way home from the party. Swimmers and walkers are intimated the next day by stragglers from the party and broken glass, bottles, syringes etc, which were left all over the beach, which was cleaned up by the Beach Section of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. Over twelve bags of rubbish were collected."
"It is totally and utterly unacceptable that the situation be allowed continue as it is at present and I am demanding that appropriate and effective action be taken by the Garda to ensure this does not have an opportunity of happening again."
