Rabbitte to bring Make a Change tour to Cork

Areas : Cork
The Labour Party leader, Deputy Pat Rabbitte, will once again visit Cork South Central to support Labour's candidate Councillor Ciaran Lynch on Tuesday, May 8th (itinerary to follow). Deputy Pat Rabbitte will be stopping off in Cork with the Labour Battle bus on his Make A Change tour.
Next week's visit is the latest in a long line of visits by the Party Leader to Cork and follows the recent Red C poll for the Evening Echo newspaper, which showed Ciaran Lynch to be in a strong position to contest the last seat in the constituency against Fianna Fail.
Deputy Rabbitte said: "The Cork South Central constituency is pivotal to Labour returning to Government. It is crucial therefore for us to win a seat in this constituency. We have a strong candidate in Councillor Ciaran Lynch who is well-known for his energy and hard work since being elected to council. The Labour Party is now pushing to transfer his local energy into national politics."
Councillor Lynch said: "The campaign has been going well and I was delighted to see that translated in the Red C poll. At this stage it is vital that Cork South Central must return at least one new TD after the General Election. People are fed up with this Government and they want a change. Once again I welcome the support given to me and Cork South Central to regain a seat for Labour in the constituency in the next General Election. Like a mid-season result, there is still everything to play for by the end of May
