Mayor Davy Hynes
David Hynes is a hard working Councillor on the Wexford Borough Council.
I have worked tirelessly on behalf of the people of Wexford since first becoming a member of Wexford Borough Council in 1997" says Cllr. Hynes.
" I understand the problems faced by people working and trying to 'make ends meet' in the aftermath of the 'Celtic Tiger'.
"I have been a socialist and trade unionist since my teens. I worked in Wexford Electronix Ltd, Wexford ( formally Smiths Eng. Ltd) for 32 years until made redundant, when the company went into receivership in 2001. Since 2003, I have worked in the Cornmarket Project ( a substance misuse project in Wexford town) as a 'drugs' project worker until September 2011. I have been in daily contact with people who are left on the margins of our society''.
"It was was a great honour for me to be elected Mayor of Wexford in 2004 and again in 2011 and as first citizen of this historic borough represented the Labour party and the people of Wexford with pride and alway respected the dignity of the office. We are in probably the worse situation since the foundation of the state. Due to the criminal mismanagement of the previous government, we are facing many hereorto unimaginal problems both national and locally but with the right policies we will get through see our town and country trive again".
