Issued : Sunday 31 May, 2009
I alway been a beliver in 'life long education' and following the clusure of the factory in worked in for 32 yrs, I decided not to take early enforced retirerment.
my taking on the current Diploma in Counselling Theory and Intervention Skills course with Merchant Quay Ireland /University College Dublin. I would like to give you some background as to why I am taking on this project at my time of life! I have had an interest in the area of addiction for many years I decided to do the Cert course in ‘counselling and motivational interviewing skills ‘ which took place in Wexford in 2000. After Wexford Electronix went into receivership in 2001 I along with 360 others were out of work and I made a decision not to put up with early enforced retirement, so I went on several FAS courses. One very interesting one I completed with about 20 former employees of Wexford Electronix was ‘Computers and Office Skills’.
