Your Voice on Galway City Council
Welcome to my website. I had the great privilege of being elected to Galway City Council in the 2009 local elections for Galway City East Ward.
I have been involved in the Labour Party and in Michael D. Higgins' campaigns since I was 19 years old, and am currently chairperson of the party here in Galway. I have also been elected chairperson of Galway City's Housing SPC and am a member of the Transport SPC and of City of Galway VEC.
I believe strongly in positive politics based on principles of community, equality and solidarity. We can improve Galway by fighting for more and better public housing, integrated public transport, by developing our services and by providing much needed facilities for elderly and young people. Sustainable and integrated planning must be embraced.
Local democracy cannot work without local involvement. It is vital that councillors and the public meet regularly and discuss matters of concern. I would be delighted to hear from you about your concerns, ideas and suggestions on how Galway can work better.
It is my role to represent the people of Galway in the interests of all the community. Equally I am open and accessible to help those I can. It is my privilege to serve the community as a member of Galway City Council.
