Labour's Voice for Galway West
Welcome to my website.
I joined the Labour Party 10 years ago when I was 19 years old and studying in NUI Galway. I joined because I believe in the power of politics to impact on peoples’ lives and the absolute necessity that the values of equality, public good and social justice influence that power and the society it creates.
We face many difficult challenges in Galway. Unemployment has entrenched itself, emigration has returned and cuts in incomes and public services are impacting on people’s lives. This government is tackling these challenges head on.
My priorities are the following: Jobs, Reform and Fairness
Jobs: Shifting the focus of government from cuts and banks to job creation and growth. Investing in the economy to create jobs, train people and kick start economic growth.
Reform: Reforming the political system to create a Dáil and government of substance, reforming business to end crony capitalism and dodgy dealing and valuing and reforming the public sector to focus it towards delivery of efficient and effective public services.
Fairness: Ensuring that fairness, not accounting or bureaucracy is the driving force for government decisions, government spending and taxation and government services.
