NOLAN CALLS ON GALWAY TO BACK MICHAEL D FOR PRESIDENT

Labour TD for Galway West Derek Nolan has called on the people of Galway to back Michael D Higgins for President.
Mr Nolan said: “I have known Michael D as a mentor and friend for a long time. He has a knowledge, record and ability second to no other candidate in the race. Not only that but he has a humour and humanity that makes him ideally suited to be President in these difficult times.
“In our local campaign here in Galway Michael D is getting a great reaction. His personal connections to so many Galwegians have made the canvass in Galway an enjoyable and happy experience. The goodwill on the streets has been exceptional.
Mr Nolan added: "It would be a source of great pride for Galway to have one of our own elected President. I am asking all those in Galway to back Michael D and give him their resounding support this polling day Thursday, October 27th. Michael D is an outstanding candidate who has the vision and energy required to be a symbol of hope for all Irish people, both at home and abroad.
"I have been proud to campaign with Michael D in Galway West. He has set out a coherent vision for the Presidency which is based on his experience as a public representative, focusing on citizenship and inclusiveness. He has the judgement and experience needed for this crucial role and above all, has an independence of thought that he has expressed and developed at all levels of Government.He will do Galway proud in the Aras."
