Emmet Stagg has represented the people of Kildare North in the Dail since he was first elected in 1987. He continues to provide an unequalled level of service to assist individuals,community and voluntary groups in securing their rights and in progressing projects that benefit our community.

 Currently Assistant Government Whip, Emmet was Minister for Housing and Energy from 1993 to 1997.

 Having turned our economy around with the sacrifices of the Irish people, Emmet wants to ensure that the recovery is maintained and that the goal of full employment is reached by 2018. He wants to play his part in ensuring that wealth now being created is shared with all with improved services in Education, Health, Justice, and Services for people with disabilities. Ensuring proper housing is available for families is a priority of Emmet's as are restoration of supports for people on welfare payments.

• Funding Secured for New Mercy Convent N.S., Naas; New St. Patrick's B.N.S., Clane; New St. Joseph's B.N.S., Kilcock; New Scoil Phadraig N.S. Celbridge; New St. Corban's N.S., Naas; New Maynooth Educate Together School; New St. Raphael's Special School, Celbridge; New Hewetson N.S.,Clane; Gaelcholaiste for North Kildare in Maynooth; New Naas Community College; New Celbridge Community College and Two New Secondary Schools for Maynooth.

• Securing Funding for the Remediation of the Kerdiffstown Landfill Site at Naas.

• Capital Funding provided for the Sallins Bypass, M7 Upgrade and Osberstown Interchange.

• Primary Care Centre provided in Clane and Construction underway of Primary Care Centres for Celbridge and Kilcock.
