Welcome from Cllr Gearóid Buckley

My name is Gearóid Buckley. I am a member of Bandon Town Council. I had the great privilege of holding the position of Mayor of Bandon during my first year as an elected representative. It was a great honour to be the First Citizen of the town where generations of my family have lived and worked.

Bandon is a great business town but, like many parts of West Cork, it has been neglected in many ways over the years. Now that the people of Bandon have elected me, I will be pressing for a new and progressive beginning to the work of the Town Council so as to benefit all of Bandon's citizens now and into the future.

The future poses many challenges for Bandon, but if we stand together as a pro-active community supporting the common good and the development of our town, then there are real opportunities for progress.

Being an elected representative is an honour that I do not take lightly. I am very conscious of the responsibilities that come with this position and I am determined to do the very best I can for our Town.

I look forward to serving all of the people of Bandon on the Town Council and I will try to do all I can to help develop the town.
