Buckley Calls on River walkway to Close

Cllr Gearóid Buckley has requested that the Bandon river walkway be closed immediately and a report given to Bandon Town Council on the safety of the new walkway.
'Part of the walkway collapsed last night, and it is only a matter of time before the walkway collapses completely and someone gets hurt. There appears to be nothing supporting the footpath for 1.5m of the walkway.
'The walkway needs to close immediately and works must be carried out to reinforce the path. A report also needs to be given to Bandon Town Council on the strength of the walkway, in particular the older part of the walkway that has been in place for some years.'
