Motions / Questions tabled for July Local Area Meeting 2010. (Thursday 22nd July)
- Cllr. Ger Corcoran: Could Westmeath County Council, in the interest of road safety, reduce and maintain the verge and grass height at Glencarrow Cross, Loughnavalley? This cross roads is a continuous road safety hazard with accidents and near misses occurring too regularly for it to be ignored.

Cllr. Ger Corcoran: ‘I propose a motion of confidence, thanks and appreciation to the council staff for their untiring work over the recent holidays and excessive cold spell. Following on directly from major flooding problems their energies, work and support was just phenomenal. The front line and emergency staff worked without any festive break providing emergency stand pipes, fault finding and repairs, road gritting and immediate support phone lines. I call on my fellow councillors to support this motion of support and join in saying thanks to all who worked so tirelessly.’
