13. Cllr. Ger Corcoran: ‘Can Westmeath County Council utilise the text function within the local authority member’s web service to inform councillors of any future expected or emergency water outages in local areas. This will help members to reply to residents and speedup communication and support so that alternative arrangements / plans / conservation can be encouraged.’
Reply: A full report on this issue will be presented to the Members at the Council Meeting on 25th January 2010.
14. Cllr. Ger Corcoran: ‘Could Westmeath County Council support a local drainage group at Tonaphort, Kilbeggan. 16. Cllr. Ger Corcoran: ‘Could Westmeath County Council provide safety warnings at the circular road (near the motor way underpass) for pedestrians at the concrete pipe bollards. The dangers could also be reduced if the hedge grow near the bollards was reduced in height to improve lines of sight.’

17. Cllr. Ger Corcoran: ‘Can “Westmeath County Council” please continue to excessively pursue ESB to illuminate street lights at Dalystown National School, Castlepark estate in Rochfortbridge and opposite the dispensary in Castletown Geoghegan? It was promised that these would be illuminated within a reasonable period. None of the above has been attended to.’
Reply: Kilbeggan Area Office is liaising with Airtricity Utility Solutions (Who took over ESB Contracts) to resolve some technical issues with regard to the lights at Dalystown National School & Castletown Geoghegan. The Housing Section is liaising with Airtricity Utility Solutions to get the lights in Castlepark Estate, Rochfortbridge turned on.
18. Cllr. Ger Corcoran: What progress or action has occurred regarding the planting of buffer trees to finish and enhance the view of the industrial estate as seen by residents living along the Mullingar Road, Kilbeggan.
Reply: The Council is of the opinion that this landscaping buffer should have been installed in 2009 and is now commencing enforcement proceedings to have this condition complied with as soon as possible.
