I was co-opted to Fingal County Council in 2003 to replace Sean Ryan TD following the abolition of the dual mandate and was subsequently elected to Fingal County Council in the 2004 Local Elections

My commitment is to continue working with Local Communities within the electoral area which covers areas such as Swords, Santry, Charlestown, Meakstown, Lanesborough, Donabate as well as the large rural areas of St Margaret’s, Rolestown, Balheary.

As a nurse by profession I feel that I bring a caring approach to local politics. I have been an ardent defender of persons with Disabilities including those with Intellectual, Physical and enduring Mental Health problems. I have been active in tackling a number of issues the more recent being A&E crisis in our Hospitals, Education Cuts, Medical Card Issue Pensions Levy, SR Technics.


Other issues of concern to me include

Proper Planning, Development and Enforcement.

Improved Public Transport.

Affordable Child Care.

Community Policing.

More Affordable and Social Housing.

Support the development of Sporting facilities.

Greater Community participation in decision making.

Regulation of Estate Management Companies.

Establishment of Youth Facilities including Youth Cafes.

Provision of adequate supports for the Elderly.

Protection of Employment in Fingal.
