Vote "YES" for Investment - Vote "Yes" for Lisbon
Issued : Saturday 12 September, 2009
“A strong “Yes” vote in the upcoming Lisbon Treaty is vital if Ireland is to attract new investment in the economy” according to Cllr. Jack Walsh, The Labour Party.
As the larger economies in the world are emerging from the present recession, and confidence grows, major companies will recommence investing in Europe. If Ireland is to benefit from this upswing it is important that investors know exactly what Irelands future position is regarding Europe? Cllr. Walsh believes a “YES” vote for the Lisbon Treaty will place Ireland in a better position to benefit from the expected upturn.
“Political stability is an important factor in making investment decisions, a “Yes” vote will give this stability, will give increased investment and will create badly needed jobs” Cllr. Walsh stated.
“The Labour Party believes that a “YES” vote is in the best interests of the country and I am asking all my friends and supporters to vote “YES” on the 2nd October” Cllr. Walsh concluded.
