Further Improvements to Nursery Lane Road Markings
Issued : Monday 21 September, 2009
Areas : Waterford City, Maypark Lane
Cllr. Jack Walsh, The Labour Party is confident that further improvements to the road markings on Nursery Lane will enhance safety for motorists and pedestrians. “I have been contacted by residents in the area expressing concern because many drivers think that Nursery Lane is one-way for its full length” Cllr. Walsh stated “it is only one-way from the WRH side entrance to the Dunmore Road”.
Recent improvements by City Council which altered signage and the new road marking at the Right Bend improved matters but Cllr. Walsh believes that the new improved road markings will make the road much safer. It is intended to have centre road markings for the full length of the two-way section of the road and also directional arrow markings. This should make it obvious to motorists that they are indeed driving on a road with a two-way flow of traffic and the need for them to drive accordingly.
