Motions to Athy Town Council

Issued : Wednesday 10 March, 2010

 My March 2010 Motions

I have tabled the following 2 motions for the March Monthly meeting of Athy Town Council to be held on March 18th.

That Athy Town Council request that Kildare County Council raise the centre area of the roundabout at the bottom of the Railway Bridge.

This is to address the problem of vehicles coming from the Lidl/Clonmullion direction speeding straight across the roundabout while heading down Leinster Street. A raised area (ramp) will force vehicles to go around the roundabout therefore slowing traffic and making the junction a lot safer.

That Athy Town Council request a meeting with the management of K Leisure regarding Hydro Therapy patients and Summer Season Ticketing.

In the old swimming pool Kildare County Council introduced a reduced rate of payment for people who had advised by their doctor to swim. This reduction was available on the production of a doctor's letter. The current management of the pool have not seen fit to continue this reduction. In the old swimming pool it was possible for children to avail of a summer membership (school holidays). This membership was at a highly discounted rate. Unfortunately new management has also discontinued this.
