Jane Dillon Byrne is an effective achiever for her constituents in the Dun Laoghaire Area, which includes Monkstown, Dalkey and Sallynoggin, From her home parish of Glasthule/Sandycove, she keeps a watchful eye on developments which affect her beloved coast, and she is currently working for new public Baths in Dun Laoghaire, and for a National Maritime Museum.

A long-time defender of the environment, Jane has fought planning battles in Deans Grange, Clonkeen and elsewhere. She was among the very first to argue for improved public transport, and was the first local representative to propose cycleways and dedicated bus corridors.

As a member of the Health Authority, Jane seeks quality health services, and she takes a special interest in he needs of Women and Older Persons.

She is a promoter of the Arts, a former member of the Arts Council, and is now on the Board of the Pavilion Theatre.

Jane is a founder member of the Irish Section of Amnesty International. She was first elected to the Council in 1974, has an unrivaled record of service to the local community in Dun Laoghaire/ Rathdown.
