GREEN PARTY PULLOUT 2 YEARS TO LATE
Issued : Tuesday 23 November, 2010
The decision by the Green Party to call for a General Election in January is an acceptance and admission that this Government is well past its sell by date. It is only regrettably that the Green Party did not withdraw from Government in September 2008 when they along with F.F. F.G. and S.F. all supported the blanket guarantee of the banks.
This decision will now allow for the people to elect a new Government with a clear mandate to stear this Country through the mess that F.F. and the Greens have caused. After 13 years of bad Government and weeks of bare faced lies to the people of this Country we now need to elect a new strong Government as soon as possible.
The Labour Party in Limerick City will now focus all our resources and efforts to return two T.D.’s from the Constituency of Limerick City. Limerick and the Mid West Region has been badly let down by this Government.
No major job announcements or jobs strategy has in over 13 years contributed to unemployment numbers touching 17,000 in the City. Limerick City has had no political leadership in decades resulting in a continuous decline in the fortunes of our City.
Electing Jan O’Sullivan and Joe Leddin to the Dail will send a clear message that the people of Limerick wish to see Eamon Gilmore as our next Taoiseach.
