Jim was first elected Athlone Town Council in June 2009
Involved in politics as a community activist on behalf of the people of the Athlone/Moate area for the past ten years,some of his achievements include:
One of the founding members of Athlone Drugs Awareness Group which has been working for about nine years responding to the growing drugs abuse in the Athlone area.
Founding member of Home Comforts (a Community Employment Scheme) set up to assist the elderly in a ten mile radius of Athlone. Unfortunately this government did not see fit to continue assisting the elderly in our area.
Jim feels that Athlone has suffered neglect from the local representatives by allowing our health services to be downgraded. He will provide a strong voice to in Athlone to protect the young and old alike.
