Cllr Linda Bell Woods
Thanks for taking the time to visit my webpage
Since April 2011, I stepped up to continue a great family tradition of hard work and commitment to the people of Drogheda and the Labour Party, whom both my father former TD, Michael Bell and former Alderman Betty Bell campaigned so tirelessly for.
As a mother of two and having worked in Bissell Ireland for 22 years, I know too well the trials of being a working mother and the difficulty of making ends in hard times.
I have been campaigning on issues and elections since I was 16 years old. More recently I have been involved in two of the largest campaigns ever organised in Drogheda, the Save Our Cancer Unit and Save Our Cottage Hospital and was proud of the people for the great support they gave.
Despite high levels of unemployment in the area, we can all work together to make our town a better place to live and visit. Drogheda is rich in history and home to the world famous Boyne Valley region and the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Newgrange. I have been involved with many groups to help promote Drogheda as a tourist town and working with the traffic management committee we are seeking to improve access to our town for our visitors.
I am proud to be part of a Labour team with a real vision for our country, locally and nationally. Now more than ever our community need strong, imaginative leadership. In the tough economic times we are facing, I will continue to put forward new ideas and policies on a vision for a better Drogheda. I also invite you and your family to contact me about any ideas or concerns that you may have.
