Wicklow's Labour TD Liz McManus is urging the National Roads Authority to ensure that the long awaited N11 Arklow to Rathnew Road project is progressed with all possible speed.
"It is vital that this long awaited project is completed as soon as possible", said Deputy Liz McManus. "My information is that five participant companies are now involved at the consultation stage of the process. I expect the 1st stage submissions will be considered in February/March and following further dialogue that the tender documents will be issued in the June/July period of this year.
"I would also expect that by November a tender will have been accepted and the work can then proceed. However, I want to ensure that there is no question of the Co. Wicklow project being delayed in favour of the Newlands Cross project. These two projects must be done in tandem and on time in view of the ongoing danger arising from the current situation", she concluded.
