An Cuan Abú. Coon Community Development Committee have done tremendous work in the village with the provision of a playground, hard court play area and parking facility. The Group received €100,000 under the RCF Grants Scheme from Kilkenny County Council and also raised an equal amount locally as part of the funding criteria. Cllr. Maurice Shortall says the group have been discussing RDP funding with Kilkenny Leader Partnership for phase 2 of the community project. “Coon is a prime example of a community helping itself, using funds wisely and deserving of support.” Says Cllr. Shortall.
