Thanks for taking the time to visit my homepage on the Labour Party website.

As a new TD, I am honoured to represent the people of Cork South-West in the Dáil. I aim to raise the challenging issues affect those in our community to the attention of the national parliament over the next few years, and will endeavour to effect positive change in the lives of local people. I am committed to public service and it is my goal to provide the best possible service to my constituents.  If you ever want to meet to discuss a specific issue of concern to you, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.

My election to Dáil Eireann was the culmination of years of hard work by the Labour Party in Cork South-West, and my years of service as a member of Seanad Eireann. It is now my intention to strengthen the organisation in Cork South-West with a view to the 2014 local elections. Our team is young, dynamic and innovative, and we are committed to developing the Labour Party brand in the local region. Together with local councillors in the area, we will seek to bring jobs, reform and fairness back into society, and in doing so, tackle tangible issues facing people such as unemployment, access to healthcare, and education services.

Coming from a coastal constituency, I am also acutely aware of the important role the sea plays in sustaining many communities throughout Ireland. The ocean economy currently contributes some €3 billion per annum to Ireland’s GNP when one takes account of income from fishing, aquaculture, food processing, shipping, tourism, IT, financial and other services.

If you ever wish to raise a specific issue of concern to you, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.
