The Loss of the West Cork Today Programme - A Big Blow

Labour Party Senator for Cork South-West, Michael McCarthy has criticised the decision of UTV to axe David Young's show, ‘West Cork Today' on the local radio station, C103.

The decision to cut this show, and combine it with the North Cork programme, will reduce coverage of the local issues facing the people of West Cork. County Cork is too large an area to be covered by one local current affairs programme.

The end of the ‘West Cork Today Programme' is a big loss and I do not believe that West Cork will be served well by this move. I would ask UTV to reconsider this decision.
