Paddy CosgraveLeas-Cathaoirleach Cllr Paddy Cosgrave

I have lived in Rathfarnham with my wife and family for the past 15 years. I work as an engineer for Eircom based at the local exchange in Ballyboden.

As a resident and a person who works in the area, I am keenly aware of the issues that affect the day to day lives of Ballyboden/Rathfarnham and Knocklyon/Templeogue residents. Over the past 18 months I have led the way on local issues from sustainable planning to public transport provision.

I have also campaigned to defend services at our local hospital in Tallaght. As chair of the Local Area Committee of the Council I have fought against what I see as over development in the Planning area and I am fully supportive of the Councils fight against graffiti.

I believe that the role of a councillor is to defend the community interest and not just what officialdom believes the community needs. I’m proud to be part of a Labour team with Eamonn Gilmore, with a real vision for our country, locally and nationally. Now more than ever our community needs strong, imaginative leadership. With your support, I’m determined to make that happen.
