Knocklyon Residents Lose Sleep Over Midnight M50 Construction Noise.
Councillor Cosgrave managed to cease night time construction on the bridge of the Knocklyon M50 exit after residents from Orlagh View were unable to sleep due to the noise. On Tuesday night, M50 Concessions began work on expanding the bridge by the Knocklyon exit at 11.30pm and continued working until well into the next morning.
“The noise from the construction on the M50 was totally unacceptable. A concerned parent from the Orlagh View estate brought it to my attention and I responded by getting in touch with the South Dublin County Council Roads Engineer,” said Labour Councillor Cosgrave.
Subsequently, the South Dublin County Council Roads Engineer, Mr Edward Edge brought up this issue to M50 Concessions and they duly ceased night time construction.
“No consideration was given to the residents of Orlagh View who had to endure a sleepless night due to a lack of foresight by the M50 contactors. From now on, construction on widening the Bridge into Knocklyon will commence at a reasonable hour in the morning,” added Councillor Cosgrave.
“I would like to thank the residents that brought this to my attention and I commend Edward Edge for acting on this issue so promptly,” said Councillor Cosgrave.
