road safety survey on osprey drive

Posted on April 14, 2008

Following a number of complaints from the residents of Osprey Drive I have been conducting a survey on road safety in the area. We are aware that there has been an ongoing problem with irresponsible drivers speeding and driving dangerously on the stretch of road from Willington roundabout to the back gate of Tymon Park.

At the request of a number of residents we are compiling a petition that will be completed by the end of April at which time we will pass it on to SDCC. I will then meet with my colleague Cllr Eamon Walsh and we will ensure that appropriate action is taken to resolve this matter in accordance with the wishes of the majority of the residents.

open spaces cleaned up

Posted on April 14, 2008

I contacted the Parks Department of SDCC on behalf of a number of residents who wanted open space areas adjacent to their homes cleaned up and made more presentable. This work was carried out by the residents with the assistance of Michelle in the Parks Department who supplied top soil, planting and waste removable. We are very grateful for their assistance.

removal of tree adjacent to tempelogue house

Posted on April 06, 2008

I received a complaint from a resident who lives adjacent to Tempelogue House regarding a large tree that was growing from the grounds of the house and over the wall into her garden. The tree was in such a dangerous state that she was in fear of it collapsing through her bedroom and kitchen windows. This had been going on for some time, and no-one would take the responsibility of dealing with it. I contacted the Parks Department and the tree has now been removed to the delight of the resident.
