I wanted an opportunity to set out the kind of Ireland we in Labour hope to build - a country proud of its achievements, a country where people can get on with their daily lives within the comfort of strong and safe communities, a country where our prosperity can be enjoyed by all and where our basic public services, like health and education, is the stuff to be truly proud of.

Here in this section, you will read my vision, along with my party's key commitments to you. You can also see what I get up to while travelling around the country and my views on what needs to be done so that Ireland can do better.

While this section is for me to set out my thoughts and for you to see what I do on a daily basis, it is also another way for me to hear from you. So if you have any comments about what you read here or about Labour, please post them here.

I think that we all can do better. Ireland can do better. And to do that, we need to make a change.
