After decades of involvement in the community and voluntary sector, I am convinced that people can build a better society and improve their quality of life from the grassroots level. Now more than ever, we need to fight to maintain the supports and services for communities.
As chairperson of the local implementation group for RAPID, I’m also convinced of the merits of the model of bringing together stakeholders from as many backgrounds as possible.
I believe in collaborative efforts and not in oppositional politics. If we want to bring the rail service back to Tuam and improve our industrial base, we can only achieve that through a partnership approach.
