Cheese for Christmas!

The announcement today that the Government intends to distribute free cheese in time for Christmas for families in need is shockingly offensive, and frighteningly detached from reality.
. People desperately want to be able to pay their mortgages, their ESB and Gas bills, their childrens’ school costs, ….they don’t want CHEESE! If ever we needed proof that this government is dangerously out of touch with reality its this announcement. And these are the people whom we are supposed to believe will save this country from economic ruin! They will slash health, education and social welfare, attack the minimum wage, callously throw thousands onto the dole every day and reject every suggestion to stimulate economic growth all the while pandering to international bondholders and bankers but don’t worry, you’ll get cheese for your Christmas dinner. Hard cheese indeed!
