Éamonn Coghlan stated:

"I am delighted to come down here and support Alan. He is a good young politician who can bring a fresh approach to politics. I worked with him on the new ideas project he tried a while back which was a great success and I am delighted to support him again. I hope he is successful. It would be great to have someone like him in Europe fighting for the country," stated Éamonn Coghlan.

Senator Alan Kelly stated:

"I am thankful to Éamonn for his support. He is a person I have always admired for his success in his chosen field. If I am able to achieve half of what he has during his career I will be doing very well indeed. It was a privilege to be able to say I ran with him, even if it was for only a short space of time," concluded Kelly.
