Senator John Kelly today welcomed the announcement of 140 new high-tech jobs in Roscommon. Speaking on the news that the Ericsson group in Athlone and WPA Mobile in Monksland will both be recruiting high level positions, he said:
“This comes as a fantastic boost to the local economy. I am delighted to hear that WPA Mobile will be creating 40 new software positions. I also welcome the news that the Ericsson group will recruit 100 software engineers, given that the group laid people off two years ago, their announcement is extremely reassuring and one which is to be very much welcomed.
“These high-tech positions are exactly the type of jobs the Government needs to be attracting. I will be liaising closely with Labour Ministers to continue to drive more job creation in Roscommon.”
