Dail Campaign 2011
Posted on January 08, 2011
There will be a general election early this spring, on 11 March. Labour members and supporters, along with their friends and relations, are out with me and my colleague Joanna Tuffy knocking on doors, handing out leaflets and doing whatever they can to get two Labour seats in Dublin Mid-West this time around. I am profoundly grateful to those who have stepped forward to help. If you can offer your time to the campaign, even as little as an hour every couple of weeks, please get in touch. If you've never been part of an election campaign before, it's a great feeling and a good way to make friends. You don't need to be nervous, we always go in groups and you will be with experienced people.

Dublin Bus proposed route changes affecting Clondalkin, Rathcoole, Newcastle
Posted on January 08, 2011
Dublin Bus is proposing route changes which would affect Clondalkin, Rathcoole and Newcastle and surrounding areas if they are carried out. There is a public consultation period which ends Sunday, 23 January 2011. Briefly, the 68 and 69 would terminate at the Red Cow Luas stop from Newcastle and Rathcoole respectively. The 51c would be combined with the 13 and 13a services to create a new 13 service, which would run from Grange Castle through Clondalkin into Dublin city centre and beyond, to Ikea. There would no longer be a 51b service. The 76 service would also see some changes. The 13 would have a frequency of about 10-12 minutes, while the 68 and 69 would have an hourly frequency. The 151 would not be changed.
