Subsidence and damaged sewer pipe at Alpine Heights, Clondalkin
Issued : Tuesday 27 April, 2010
At a meeting of the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee on 27 April, I asked for a report on the subsidence problem affecting 197-202 Alpine Heights, Clondalkin, which is affecting the sewage system for those houses. In particular, I asked the Manager to indicate the extent that South Dublin County Council could contribute financially to the required repairs.
A contractor has been appointed to carry out the necessary repairs to the damaged combined drain serving 197 - 202 Alpine Heights. Only one house on this line is a Local Authority rented property; the rest are in private ownership.
The work to this damaged pipe will be carried out shortly, and the Housing Department will fund the cost of the repair work to the rented house. The owners of the private houses have agreed to pay the balance between them.
