ANGRY VOTERS URGED TO CHECK THEIR ELECTORAL REGISTER - McMANUS
Issued : Thursday 14 May, 2009
Labour Candidate Ronan McManus is urging people to check the local Electoral Register to ensure they will be able to vote on Friday, June 5th. With the electoral register for the local elections, due to close at 5pm, Monday 18 May, it is vitally important that voters make sure that they are on it.
When I am out canvassing with the other Local Election candidates for the Labour Party, we have been struck by the sheer anger and frustration that is being directed towards Fianna Fail and the Greens.
I fully understand this anger and frustration, but the best way for voters to express this anger is at the ballot box. However, people cannot do this if they are not on the electoral register, so I am urging people this week to make sure!
People should check with the Bray Town Council or Wicklow County Council, or contact the local Labour Party Office who will be able to advise them.
