The Labour Party Welcomes New Concept for Dún Laoghaire Baths Site
Issued : Thursday 7 October, 2010
Areas : Dalkey, Sandycove, Dun Laoghaire, Monkstown, Blackrock
A new outline concept from Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council for the regeneration of the Dún Laoghaire Baths site, together with the surrounding area from Scotman’s Bay to the East Pier, is a positive step forward for the town of Dún Laoghaire and for people in the surrounding area.
In three weeks time details of the public consultation process for the Dún Laoghaire Baths Concept will be presented to County Councillors for agreement.
The Labour Party will actively engage with the public to seek their reaction to this concept.
If the outcome to the public consultation process is positive then the concept will be developed into a set of detailed proposals including the process for seeking planning permission and for carrying out an Environmental Impact Statement.
To realise the regeneration of the Dún Laoghaire Baths site will require the cooperation, support and commitment from the public, local community groups and all local political representatives.
The Labour Party will play its part in working to support whatever project emerges from the process.
