My name is Tom Fortune and for the past 30 years I have been an active member of my community in addition to being a member of the Wicklow County council since June of 2004. My goals and aspirations are simple- I want the issues of concern to the people in Greystones, Kilcoole, Newcastle, Delgany, and Killadreenen areas to be raised at both local and national level

My priority as a councillor is to ensure that all local issues are heard, discussed, and dealt with in an effective manner which is what I have endeavoured to achieve over the past 5 years as a member of the Wicklow County Council.
During my time as a county councillor, I have advocated for better roads, footpaths, car parking, resurfacing in housing estates, sewerage, pedestrian crossings, traffic calming, and traffic management among other local concerns. I continue to work hard for the improvement in the quality of infrastructure and will lobby for the implementation of more schools, proper school zoning, playgrounds, community facilities, enterprise units, and a new Garda station as reflected in the local area plans for the Kilcoole, Greystones, Newcastle, Delgany, and Newtownmountkennedy areas.

I also believe that the environment is one of our most important assets to us and our children and I continue to lobby for a recycling centre, improved sewerage schemes, steps to combat flooding, and to protect the future of our community from ill advised planning decisions.
