LW elects new Executive

LW National Conference elected a new Executive to guide the work of LW for the next two years. The members of the new Executive are : Ally Carr, Angelina Cox, Judy Dunne, Katherine Dunne, Michelle Lee, Marie Moynihan, Muireann Neylon, Sinead Ni Chulachain, Angela Timlin.
The hustings was a demonstration of wonderful calibre of women coming forward to continue the work of LW. The diversity of women was also remarkable. It was a difficult task for the delegates to elect from such an excellent line-up.
One half of the new Executive is made of former members, the other half of members new to the Executive.
'It has been a pleasure to serve in the Executive for the last two years. My report illustrates the amount of work that has been carried out. I am particularly pleased that we have been able to play our part in advancing the issue of women's political participation, and look forward to the forthcoming gender legislation which will hopefully see more women enter political decision-making', said the outgoing Chair Katherine Dunne.
