International Seminar on LGBT rights

Labour Youth and Labour Equality are hosting this week a seminar on LGBT rights coinciding with the Pride celebrations taking place this week.

Members of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) will be participating from all over the world. The seminar takes place in Dublin on the 19th, 20th and 21st June.

In recent years huge progress has been made in securing LGBT legal rights and social equality in certain parts of the world. In many other countries, however, fear of discrimination and persecution still dominates the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Where progress has happened, it has often been socialist organisations that have lead the fight for equality and justice. The seminar is been held to discuss how we can support the fight for LGBT equality on a global level.
