New Health Centre

The Tánaiste, Mary Harney has announced that the new health Centre in Ballymun will be opened in the coming year.

The opening of this Primary Health-Care Centre is great news for the residents of Ballymun. It will provide a much needed service in comfortable, modern surroundings. It will help reduce the pressure on Accident and Emergency Services in local hospitals as people can at last get the health-care they need in their local area.

The decision to provide the funding to open this health centre was not before time. This facility has stood idle for the last two years and millions of euros have been wasted in paying rent for an unused building. However, thanks to ongoing pressure from the people of Ballymun and the high turnout in last Summer's local elections, the government finally had to act.
