A Trade Union official representing workers in the Services division, Brendan also represented his community as an elected member of Dublin City Council for 10 years and also served as Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin City. For family reasons, Brendan could not contest the last local elections but he is contesting the 2014 local election .
Since embarking on his campaign, Brendan has resumed his working relationship with the many community and sporting groups and residents associations with whom he has worked closely with in the past.
