Issued : Friday 19 December, 2014
Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform and Wexford TD, Brendan Howlin, has welcomed confirmation that the National Roads Authority will allocate €300,000 towards the N7/N11 Arklow to Rathnew PPP scheme in 2015, with remaining sections of the N11 to open before the end of 2015.
He was speaking as the NRA announced allocations to local authorities for 2015 for improvement works and maintenance.
“The stimulus plan that I brought forward as Public Expenditure Minister also included investment in two remaining PPP schemes, the M11 Gorey/Enniscorthy and N25 New Ross Bypass. It is hoped that both of these projects can be brought to financial close in 2015, allowing construction to start in 2015/2016.
“The investment we are delivering for roads in Wexford will be an asset for our local economy, enhancing transport links with Dublin and making the journey that bit easier for commuters.
“I look forward to significant progress being made on these schemes in 2015, to the benefit of Wexford motorists.”
