€134 million capital programme approved for Dun Laoghaire

Labour General Election candidate for Dun Laoghaire, Carrie Smyth, welcomed the approval by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council of a €134 million Capital Expenditure Programme for 2016-2018.
Speaking after last night’s County Council meeting Smyth said:
“This 3 year capital programme will address a number of infrastructural deficits throughout Dun Laoghaire Rathdown and help to develop the range of sports, leisure and community projects available to residents.
“In total over €12.4 million has been allocated for the improvement of footpaths, roads and cycle routes throughout the County. This includes €1 million for the implementation for a 30Km/h speed limit to help protect children and other vulnerable road users.
“Some key areas of concerns for residents are being addressed with €3 million for flood alleviation works and €8.5 million for the nearly completed Leopardstown Link Road and Roundabout.”
“A number of community and leisure projects will also benefit from the programme including:
- · €2.75 million for Dun Laoghaire Baths.
- · €530,000 for renovations in Blackrock Park and Carysfort Park
- · €260,000 for improvement and enhancement works at Killiney Hill
“This investment programme will develop and enhance of our local area to benefit all residents.”
