Dun Laoghaire set for €1.3 million housing investment
Issued : Saturday 6 February, 2016
Labour General Election candidate for Dun Laoghaire, Carrie Smyth, has welcomed the announcement that over €1.3 million will be made available in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, in 2016, for housing adaptations for older people and people with a disability, living in private accommodation.
Speaking after the announcement Carrie Smyth remarked, “This funding will significantly improve the quality of life for many older citizens and people with a disability living in our area.
“The €1.3 million investment will allow people to extend their home or improve mobility within their home through the installation of mobility aid such as stair lifts, ramps to entrance etc
“This is hugely important for those affected as it can greatly improve the quality of life for those who either have a disability or are reaching an age in life when they are less mobile.”
“This funding is part of a huge Government commitment to housing and improving the quality of life of our more vulnerable citizens and will be a boost for the construction sector locally.
