SMYTH WELCOMES NEW JOBS TO CHERRYWOOD

Labour General Election candidate for Dun Laoghaire, Carrie Smyth, welcomed the opening of a new process research facility by APC Ltd in Cherrywood, Co. Dublin.

APC is a leading company that converts molecules developed within the laboratory into finished new products ready for manufacturing.

“I am delighted to see the opening of the new process research facility of APC here in my own constituency. The expansion of APC here in Cherrywood means they can provide the exact kind of high quality jobs that continue to make Ireland a competitive economy with 100 high-skilled jobs being created over the next 18 months.

“The overall success of the pharmaceutical sector in Ireland has created tens of thousands of jobs and significantly contributes to our annual exports. Ireland is one of the leading locations for pharmaceutical production in the world, with nine of the top ten pharmaceutical companies globally located here.

“By supporting the development of this sector, through investment in education, research and innovation, and high quality infrastructure we continue to contribute to the economic recovery and help to generate new jobs sectors for future generations.

“Since its formation in 2011 APC has significantly expanded to become a global pharmaceutical and biotech process research company and I wish everyone involved continued growth and success for the future.”
