Stagg Presses Minister on Tenders for New Maynooth Boy's National School

.Kildare North Labour Representative Emmet Stagg has again been in contact with the Minister for Education in relation to progressing the Tender Documents for the New St. Mary's Boy's National School on the Moyglare Road, Maynooth

Mr. Stagg stated that planning permission for The New Maynooth Boy’s NS was granted by Kildare Co. Council on August 1st last and it comprises the replacement of the existing school and the construction of a new 3 storey National School with 24 classrooms including a Special Needs Unit and Multipurpose Hall. 3 Ballcourts and a Junior Play area will also be provided as part of the project.

The school currently has 530 pupils and when completed the new school will cater for just under 700 pupils.

The Minister has advised Mr. Stagg that the project is currently at Detailed Design of Architectural Planning including the preparation of Tender Documents and seeking consents for Disability Access Certificates and Fire Safety Certificates. The Design Team are working on these issues and when completed they will be submitted to the Department for review.

In conclusion Kildare North Labour Representative Emmet Stagg stated that he would continue to press the Minister for Education and Skills to progress the project to Tender Stage.

2nd AUGUST, 2017 - New Maynooth Boy's National School Gets Planning Approval - Stagg

Kildare North Labour Representative Emmet Stagg has welcomed the decision by Kildare Co. Council to grant planning permission for the New St. Mary's Boy's National School on the Moyglare Road, Maynooth.

The Council stated Mr. Stagg granted planning permission for The New Maynooth Boy’s NS on August 1st and it comprises the replacement of the existing school and the construction of a new 3 storey National School with 24 classrooms including a Special Needs Unit and Multipurpose Hall. 3 Ballcourts and a Junior Play area will also be provided as part of the project.

9th JULY, 2017 - New Maynooth Boy’s NS Planning Permission Decision Due on August 1st

Kildare North Labour Representative Emmet Stagg has welcomed the timely response by the Design Team to the Request for Further Information on the Planning Permission for the New Maynooth Boy’s National School with a decision due now on August 1st.

Mr. Stagg stated that the Further Information requested in relation to the New Maynooth Boys National School on June 1st covered revised design calculations for attenuation storage and pipework, additional lands required to accommodate the upgrading of the Kilcock Road/Moyglare Road Junction in line with the Maynooth Town North-South Corridor Part 8 and Maynooth Traffic Management Plan, internal drop off arrangements within the new school, cycle parking facilities and landscaping. The Further Information request was responded to on July 5th.

The New Maynooth Boy’s NS comprises the replacement of the existing school and the construction of a new 3 storey National School with 24 classrooms including a Special Needs Unit.

In conclusion Kildare North Labour Representative Emmet Stagg, who has lodged a submission in support of the planning application, stated that he looked forward to permission being granted so we can progress the project to the preparation of Tender Documents.
