Nolan calls for bus stop and shelter for Cloyne

Issued : Sunday 6 April, 2014
Areas : Cloyne

Cork East's Labour candidate, Eric Nolan has made representations seeking a bus stop and shelter for Cloyne. Eric said 'There is no bus stop in Cloyne centre. It's hard to believe but the bus just stops where it can. And with no stop there is also no shelter. In bad weather passengers are getting soaked waiting for a bus, that will pull in where it can. Cloyne deserves better and I have written to Bus Eireann about this. I would encourage bus users in Cloyne to also contact Bus Eireann. As with most issues, the more noise we make the quicker we get things done.'

Eric continued 'If elected I'm going to visit Cloyne regularly and put my efforts into ensuring this gets sorted, as well as the poor footpaths and general disrepair of the roads. With the recent bad weather the council are working flat out and it seems to me extra resources will be needed to catch up on the damage. We pay enough taxes to have decent roads and footpaths.'
