Labour flagbearer Neil O’Shea to nominate John Kelly as party candidate on Tuesday

Long-time Labour activist, Neil O’Shea, Bealnamulla, Athlone, will nominate Cllr. John Kelly as the party’s candidate in the general election on Tuesday, February 8th at Roscommon Courthouse at 3pm.
Neil O’Shea is a former Labour Party Dáil candidate and a former Labour member of Athlone Town Council. Also present will be the Labour Party’s spokesperson on Education and Science, Ruairi Quinn.
Cllr. Kelly commented: “Neil has flown the Labour flag in Roscommon for many decades now. He canvassed for Jack McQuillan back in the 1960s and stood as the party’s candidate in 1969 in the constituency of Roscommon/Leitrim. Neil also stood in the 1981 general election for the Longford/Westmeath constituency.”
“His loyalty to the party and to its core beliefs and principles is what builds and strengthens political parties. It is an honour to have Neil O’Shea nominate me to stand for the Labour Party for Roscommon/South Leitrim in this general election.
