€45K TO CLEAN UP LOCAL PROJECTS – PRATT

Two separate projects in Lismore and Dungarvan are receiving approximately €45,000 under the Public Area Enhancement Scheme, it was confirmed today.

The announcement includes €14,975 for the Monument Junction in Lismore, as part of the Town Enhancement Scheme including footpath, pavement, paving works; and €29,825 for the development of a public amenity at Fairlane Park, Dungarvan.

The move has been welcomed by Labour Councillor and election candidate John Pratt.

Other projects in Waterford County that have been approved include €25,000 for improvement works at Doneraile Park, Tramore, including upgrading public lighting.

Pratt says: “This funding will give our local community a chance to show its best face for the coming tourist season.

“The Public Area Enhancement Scheme was announced in March and following the receipt of specific proposals from local authorities, details of the local projects have today been approved.

“This funding will help the local authority and local community groups work closely together to improve the visual appearance of our local area, and to make Waterford more attractive for tourists and residents alike.”
